Project

Creating a user-friendly site for stroke survivors depended heavily on dedicated research and extensive user testing throughout production phase. From the findings, I delivered a complex site with an emphasis on a simple, yet customisable design that meets the needs of each individual user. Clear prompts, minimal distractions and support tools all contribute to the success of the product.

I created a multi purpose solution for delivering a great experience for a range of targeted user groups, as identified by extensive user testing and client objectives. This included exposing a broader range of ACMI services and delivering a seamless booking experience (within the limitations of the existing framework), while also outputting to multiple ticketing providers.

I created a site with the key objective of converting customers. Using best practice methods I developed a seamless experience, focusing on building trust, developing a design with minimal page loads, specialised form design and minimising distractions. Ongoing A/B testing is vital in insuring conversation is optimised.

I was responsible for designing engaging online experiences across the NZ Herald's desktop, mobile and apps online space. I worked on the redesign of the NZ Herald website, with a focusing on user experience. I worked closely with the analytics team to improve ongoing user engagement and was responsible for creating design solutions for the roll out of new products.

Driven by a love of fishing and a nagging father, I have planned, created, designed, developed and nurtured an online solution for New Zealand fishing enthusiast’s need for good, free fishing spots. The site is currently going through a rebuild with a focus on greater responsive design and building community.

Since 2008, I have worked with the team from Initio to create a site with a focus on delivering conversion rate of 30% and above. Ongoing UX improvements and support, with a focus on A/B testing has seen the business grow into a competing online rental insurance company within the New Zealand insurance landscape.

At Yahoo!Xtra I was an in-house web designer working across the site creating, developing and implementing Yahoo! Applications. This included client branded custom solution sites, web banners, wallpapers and general advertising. Success depended on creating aesthetically pleasing, user-friendly designs that met client objectives while keeping true to the Yahoo! Brand.

I have worked on multiple projects for 42 Below. The first was a competition site called Cocktail World Cup where I was responsible for the overall look and feel of the site while maintaining 42Below's vision and branding requirements. Another big project was designing their file depositary site. The success of the site rested upon a well planned and designed user interface.
